If you mean relative rarity by frequencies, I'll be able to scrounge something up. I had discussed with Skant a few years ago the relative numbers of fighters and had gotten it fairly dead on (according to him); I'll look for and post that as soon as I find it. Capships are another matter, but I did a bit of wild guessing at what a typical Terran navy would consist of (basically by picking N number of battlegroups of each type and totalling numbers), and figuring it from there. The numbers made sense relative to modern navies (ie it totalled about 20 cruisers, 20 CVs, shitloads of smaller stuff, very few CVAs or DNs) and had ungodly amounts of CVEs and CVRs. ;) I'll post it in a bit. For formations, I'm guessing you mean battlegroups and I've got that info right here. This is from Skant's postings (and I'm not going to post it again for a bit because it's probably boring the snot out of people who have seen it seven or eight times sans change!): Typical Core Fleets ------------------- Light Frigate Battlegroup 1xFF,1xCVE (2C) (1W) (6+0=6 fighters) (6 F/W ratio) Lean Frigate Battlegroup 2xFF,1xCVE (3C) (2W) (6+0=6 fighters) (3 F/W ratio) Standard Frigate Battlegroup 2xFF,1xCVL (3C) (1W) (12+0=12 fighters) (6:1 F/W ratio) Light Destroyer Battlegroup DD,FF,1xCVL (3C) (2W) (12+0=12 fighters) (6:1 F/W ratio) Lean Destroyer Battlegroup DD,2xFF,1xCVL (4C) (3W) (12+0=12 fighters) (4:1 F/W ratio) Standard Destroyer Battlegroup DD,2xFF,1xCVL,1xCVE (5C) (3W) (18+0=18 fighters) (6:1 F/W ratio) Strong Destroyer Battlegroup 2xDD,2xFF,1xCV (5C) (4W) (12+12=24 fighters) (6:1 F/W ratio) Lean Cruiser Battlegroup CA,DD,2xFF,CVL (5C) (4W) (12+0=12 fighters) (3:1 F/W ratio) Standard Cruiser Battlegroup CA,DD,2xFF,CV (5C) (4W) (12+12=24 fighters) (6:1 F/W ratio) Fat Cruiser Battlegroup CA,DD,2xFF,2xCV (6C) (4W) (24+24=48 fighters) (12:1 F/W ratio) Standard Light Carrier Battlegroup 1xFF,1xCVL (2C) (1W) (12+0=12 fighters) (12:1 F/W ratio) Standard Carrier Battlegroup 2xFF,1xCV (3C) (2W) (12+12=24 fighters) (12:1 F/W ratio) Fat Carrier Battlegroup 2xFF,1xCV,1xCVL (4C) (2W) (24+12=36 fighters) (16:1 F/W ratio) Standard Heavy Carrier Battlegroup 1xCA,2xDD,3xFF,CVA,CVL (8C) (6W) (36+24=60 fighters) (10:1 F/W ratio) Fat Heavy Carrier Battlegroup 1xDD,2xFF,CVA,CVL (5C) (3W) (36+24=60 fighters) (20:1 F/W ratio) Strong Heavy Carrier Battlegroup 2xCA,2xDD,4xFF,CVA,CV (10C) (8W) (36+36=72 fighters) (9:1 F/W ratio) Ultra Fat Heavy Carrier Battlegroup 1xCA,1xDD,2xFF,CVA,2xCV,CVL (8C) (4W) (60+48=108 fighters) (27:1 F/W ratio) Standard Dreadnaught Battlegroup 1xDN,2xCA,3xDD,4xFF,CVA,CVL (12C) (10W) (36+24=60 fighters) (6:1 F/W ratio) Strong Dreadnaught Battlegroup 1xDN,3xCA,4xDD,6xFF,CVA,CV,CVL (20C) (14W) (48+36=84 fighters) (6:1 F/W ratio) Aux Carrier Task Force 1xAuxCV,8xRR (1C) (0W) (6+48 fighters) (- F/W ratio) Independent Strike Force 1xCVS (1C) (1W) (12+0 fighters) (12 F/W ratio) Strong Independent Strike Force 1xCA,1xCVS (2C) (2W) (12+0 fighters) (6 F/W ratio) The numbers of CVEs in these fleets will be widely varied, as CVEs are often used to accompany other ships (ie CVs or CVAs) that can't launch their entire complement at once. They transfer some fighters to the CVEs so that they can launch all their craft instead of doing so in two waves. For example, a CVA would be accompanied by four CVEs to launch the 24 internal fighters (or a CVL and two CVEs, or two CVLs, etc). -Patrick Stewart
